Our Story: Kono's Northshore
Our story begins with our CEO, driven by a bold pig-on-a-surfboard logo, a made-from-scratch Hawaiian-inspired menu, and a hands-on approach. Starting in 2002 with one location, Kono’s Northshore grew to four Hawaiʻi spots by 2020. In 2021, we expanded to Las Vegas, now home to our franchise training center, test kitchen, and food truck commissary. The journey continues with two franchise locations in Houston, Texas, and another location on its way in Dallas, Texas.

At Kono’s Northshore, our vision is to grow a strong franchise network with partners who believe in our model, love bold Hawaiian-inspired food, and deliver “Extra Aloha Service.” We focus on multi-unit growth, clear strategy, and hands-on support. From your first call to your grand opening and beyond, our team is here with transparency, dedication, and real support—every step of the way.
Our Food & Extra Aloha Service
Our menu showcases the bold flavors of our award-winning, 12-hour slow-roasted pulled pork, served in bowls, bombers (burritos), sandwiches, plates, and salads. With handcrafted milkshakes, smoothies, and limeades, there’s something for everyone. We take pride in our house-made papaya seed dressing and guava BBQ sauce, along with our signature bottled hot sauces that perfectly complement our dishes. Our Surfing Pig-branded t-shirts, hats, mugs, and stickers allow guests to take a piece of Kono’s Northshore home while driving additional sales. More than just saying “Aloha” and “Mahalo,” Extra Aloha Service is about creating a warm, welcoming experience where every guest feels special—through genuine smiles and the true spirit of Hawaiian hospitality.
